WINE CORK ART !Wine cork art is fun and easy because the wine cork is such an interesting and diverse little critter. They have a nice shape, are lightweight, and a neutral color that begs for colorful embellishment. Although I have never been a wine drinker I have always been fascinated with what can be done with the cork and I am sure I have only scratched the surface of ideas. Original wine corks are made from the bark of an evergreen oak tree found in the Mediterranean. Rumor has it that the they will soon be obsolete, being replaced by synthetic corks, screw caps, or the ever popular "box-o-wine". I currently create three major wine cork items: bulletin boards, wreaths, and ornaments, which have all proved very popular.
