Painted and Decoupaged FurnitureThere are so many different ways to decoupage. I start with large pictures to form a background as my first layer. The rest of the layers are individualy cut out pictures of faces, flowers, butterflies, or whatever theme I am using at the time. This is the most labor intensive and time consuming part of decoupage. I also spend a lot of time with the placement of each picture according to color, shape, size, etc. Each piece of furniture can take days, sometimes weeks to complete just the deoupage portion. We find the furniture second hand and renovate each piece to like new. All pieces whether painted or decoupaged have several coats of polyurethane and are ready to be used as originally intended.
